About the event

In-person workshop at the Albany, the inspiring leading arts centre in the heart of South East London, led by Waterway's beloved facilitator and friend, Alice from Scratchworks Theatre Company.

This workshop explores the joy, the humour & the simplicity of telling a story with just our bodies. Then we’ll throw out the rule book & explore our voices & music making to enhance the storytelling.

If you play a portable, acoustic instrument - please bring it along! We’d love to incorporate some live music into the session.

This workshop will be led by Alice Higginson-Clarke: a theatre-maker, performer & writer who has been a Co-Artistic Director of Scratchworks Theatre Company since it began in 2013. Scratchworks is a female-led company specialising in physical theatre, comedy & storytelling for audiences of all ages.

Wth 10 years' award-winning track record of highly visual and playful theatre, Scratchworks is a physical ensemble of three women who make all of their fantastic productions from scratch, blending movement, comedy, live music and imagination to bring a story to life. They are also experienced in delivering all kinds of workshops for all ages.

Alice is praised by Waterway's previous partcipants (check out the blog here!) for her great ability in creating a relaxing, encouraging and fun group environment where everyone is supported to explore, create and learn.

This workshop is open to all levels of ability, from complete beginners looking to try something new or for those with more experience looking to explore & play in a collaborative environment.

Please wear comfortable clothing for moving in.
