About the event

A snapshot from our last Improvisation Acting workshop:

The same object becomes all sorts of things in various scenarios with the imagination and performances of group members. An Object Challenge sets off our improvisation and one’s improvisation inspires another… Group improvised scenes were definitely a highlight of the workshop … you need to accept whatever is happening, ‘no negotiation’, let everything affect you and be creative with choices and instincts. Things can go wrong… you might have decided to conduct the plot like this only to find out the next second another actor is pulling it to an opposite direction…But you co-create stories, laugh and experience excitement exactly in being creative and let the drama unfold.

Our supportive space for Improvisation returns! Come and enjoy following your instincts and creating something on the spot, together with a fun and relaxing group in our Improvisation Club.

  • Ice breaker and warm-up games

  • Facilitated by handpicked tools and explore key rules in improvisation

  • Experience active listening and thinking outside the box

  • From the joy of saying ‘yes and…’ to 'everything affects you'

  • Get tailored individual tips from an industry expert so you hone your craft and improve efficiently

  • Our activities will cover Improvisation in the sense of dramatic, verbal, physical, interpersonal and co-creation of scenes!

  • A warm-up involving movement will also be included to help you come to your body and the space, switching off from the thinking during the day

  • Optional video footage is available for you to take away great memories

  • Social time after the session, which takes place in the rehearsal studio of a vibrant theatre in central London

Improvisation allows actors to find ‘free spaces within the framework, within the given constraints so that individual creativity can unfold...’ (Roberto Ciulli, director). No surprise that seasoned actors value the importance of taking improvisation training. Improvisation frees up the performer's mind so as to be more creative with choices and instincts. It's a practical skill to master widely useful for auditions and performances. It also proved beneficial to exploring oneself, building confidence and developing creative and social intelligence.

Suitable for different levels of experience and beginner-friendly!
